The uniqueness of wardrobes
The huge advantage of built-in wardrobes in front of a chest of drawers, a hanger or wall hooks is its functional qualities as well as its aesthetic appearance. Thanks to the storage, even in the most compact front door you will be able to place a large number of things behind its doors, starting with outerwear and ending with small accessories.
The design, appearance and functionality of the wardrobe depend on the area of the room, the taste preferences of the customer and the total amount of the product. Its uniqueness also depends on the imagination and ideas of customers about their home, because someone prefers minimalism, others choose high-tech or modern with metal or mirror doors, and for those who prefer Provence rustic style, the storehouse of wooden doors is perfect.
Where we will have
An original solution to the problem of a small square hallway will allow a cabinet built into the corner. Thus, you can save on two adjacent walls up to 20% of the cost. To build such a cabinet will not be difficult. The main rule is to choose a deep roomy angle, with sufficient distance from interior and front doors. The height of the headsets is practically unlimited and can be located right up to the ceiling. The only caveat is to leave a small distance of 50 millimeters between the upper wall of the wardrobe and the stretch ceiling.
What materials are the wardrobes made of?
Chipboard
The most profitable and from that often used material for the production of the hallway is a laminated chipboard. These boards are made of compressed sawdust and shavings, and synthetic resin is the connecting link.Due to simple production, compliance with mechanical action (sawing, nailing, milling) the cost of chipboard cabinets is much less than the cost of solid wood items and even MDF. And if you keep in integrity the laminate coating on the chipboard surface, then this case will not be afraid of moisture and high temperature. Another advantage of the furniture of compressed wood is that when hitting the body, there are no dents and marks left on it.
Unfortunately, the drawers from the “chips” wardrobe are also missing. These include:
- If the laminate coating is damaged, moisture will become the main enemy of your furniture.
- For durability, chipboard is treated with foldehyde resins, which emit a small amount of toxic substances.
Carefully read all the characteristics of chipboard products before making a purchase.
Fiberboard
As a rule, individual parts for wardrobes, rather than objects, are made from a fiberboard. This is due to the fact that the hardboard does not have a large thickness, because wet-pressing technology does not allow making thick and durable boards. In economy-class furniture, fiber boards are made of bottom plates, drawers, and also the back walls of the cabinet. On the one hand, hardboard has a rough surface, and on the other, it is laminated. Due to its low cost and simplicity of creation, fibreboard is widely popular among manufacturers of body objects.
MDF
MDF is a fibreboard, but differs from fiberboard in average density. In other words, these are boards consisting of small wooden fractions. As a rule, the back walls of the cabinets are made from them, as well as from fiber boards. But in contrast to MDF, whole furniture complexes can be made from MDF. Compared to chipboard, MDF is more expensive, more durable, and also due to its increased plasticity, it is possible to make a storehouse for upper things and accessories decorated with carved facades and bends. Another advantage of MDF is that such a product can be installed in a room with high humidity, fibreboard is made of an ecological natural material, and therefore does not harm the health of the household.
Furniture made of solid wood
This is the most expensive type of apartment furnishings, as they use a solid array of such trees as beech, walnut, oak, conifers and other species to create headsets. This furniture can be seen in the most luxurious European palaces, because it speaks about the welfare of the owner, his taste for life and love for natural things. It is such a repository, reminiscent of nature, that can improve the microclimate in your “nest”, clean the air and please for many years with the pleasant aroma of wood. The disadvantages of the wardrobe of solid wood can be attributed to his dislike of moisture and elevated temperatures. At change of climate and hit of water on the case the product can be deformed, change a form, crack. But with care, it will undoubtedly serve you for many years. And combining wood species with plastic, glass or metal, you can get a closet that fits perfectly into absolutely any style of apartment: gothic, ethnic, Provence, modern and many others.
Types of wardrobes
The built-in wardrobes make the most efficient use of all the space reserved for them.Literally setting the doors to the runners, along which with the help of rollers they will smoothly move to the right and left, you can organize a wardrobe in the niche built into the wall. And most importantly, thanks to the unlimited choice of doors, such a set perfectly fits into absolutely any environment. It remains only to skillfully and tastefully select the "cover" for your hallway. Another advantage of built-in furniture is its affordable price.
Compared with the storage of things built into the wall, the wardrobes of the cabinet structure are positioned as a separate piece of furniture. A great advantage of such cabinets is their mobility, that is, when moving you will only need to disassemble it and move to a new apartment, whereas for the built-in storehouse of the upper wardrobe you will need to look for a suitable niche, and if there is no such puzzle, how to arrange it yourself. Also, a wardrobe with a separate body can be moved to any other place, if you want to refresh the repair and make a permutation. This is where the great advantages of such products end. The disadvantages include a higher cost compared to the built-in headsets, because in this case you will have to pay at least 6 walls. In addition, furniture "eats" some space of the room, for which it will be issued ahead. But if you want to functionally divide one room into two, then the mobile cabinet will do just right!
In addition to the designs, wardrobes are divided by the material of the doors.
- There are two types of mirrors depending on the types of mirrors: the doors are covered with a silver mirror and tinted (with bronze coating). The effect of toned surfaces is rather unusual, it seems that the person looking has a light tan. Of course, the facades with mirrors are much higher than ordinary wooden ones, but for the place that welcomes guests and household members, it is extremely important that there is a place to look and visit a marafet. Therefore, for wardrobes, equipped at the entrance, it is customary to install mirrors on at least one of the doors.
- Deaf facades are made of laminated chipboard without any additional coating or fixture. In other words, these are ordinary wooden facades.
Such doors can be of the following types.
- Uniformly wooden. The most economical option that fits perfectly into the rooms equipped in a simple uncluttered style, without any extra details.
- With decorative inserts (combined). In this embodiment, the tree can be combined with mirror elements, glass, metal, wood of another breed. It is this option for decorating the hallway that is more often chosen by customers, since it is democratic in price, but not devoid of "zest".
- Glass. As a rule, ordinary clear glass for cabinets is not left as doors, because all things will be visible through it, and it looks not very aesthetically pleasing. Therefore, matte films are applied to the glass surfaces to hide the inside of the headset. In addition to the matte film, decorative contour pictures, patterns, ornaments are often applied to the facade. This design solution looks interesting in the hall in the style of Provence, modern.
The location of the wardrobe depends on the configuration of the room. For elongated rooms, it is preferable to put narrow rectangular furniture that fits clearly along the wall. For square spaces, corner storage is selected for items that can also be made in various configurations.
- Radius.Increasingly, for a rational placement of wardrobe, customers choose the choice on a semicircular facade with sliding doors that can be supported on top of the doors or on the bottom, depending on whether guides are installed in the ceiling or on the floor.
- Rectangular. Set with right angles suitable for adherents of the classics. Fill the interior of the cabinet at the request of the customer.
- Trapezoidal shapes are chosen in case of space saving. They fit perpendicular to the walls, but can be cut at the corner. It is on the bevel that you can install a mirror, or decorate the "cover" at will.
- Triangular have only one surface, which is connecting between the two adjacent walls of the entrance room.
The interior of the cabinet
In other words, it is filling (filling the internal area of the cabinet). It can be made of the following materials:
- Partitions, shelves and rear walls of wardrobes are made of laminated chipboard. They are fastened through the mounting angle. Hung up, boxes, accessories (handles, polkoderzhatel) can also be made by the manufacturer of a hall.
- A more expensive version of the filling is a filler consisting of metal modules from other suppliers (for example, IKEA). Baskets, racks, partitions, hung up can be purchased separately at the wholesale base of specialized stores and built into your wardrobe.
- Combined filling method. In this case, part of the cabinet is filled by the headset manufacturer at the request of the customer, and in the remainder ready baskets, shelves, holders for hangers and more are selected.
The layout of the filling is filled depending on the requirements of the customer. Everyone approaches this issue individually, because someone needs hangers in large quantities, and someone prefers to keep clothes and things in drawers.
The back wall is made of chipboard, or remains uncovered. If you decide to leave the wall "bare", remember the risk of messing or damaging it during operation.
Tips for choosing a wardrobe
The main thing to remember is that all the partitions separating the internal shelves of the cabinet should be placed strictly behind the junction of the doors, i.e. When the doors are fully opened, you should have access to an internal shelf from wall to wall, and not just a part of it.
You also need to know: in the execution of the facade in the two-door version, you will always have access to only one half of the wardrobe (when opening the door). In the case of a three-door "hallways" you can use the 1/3 part. In the four-door furniture as well as in the case of a two-door closet, half a storehouse of things will be open at your disposal.
For a visual increase in the area of a small room, doors with mirrors can be very useful. With the help of a reflective surface you can double the space.
For dark and poorly lit rooms, you can provide a wardrobe with fixtures that will be built into the curtain rail above the doors. And if you arrange the lamps above the mirrored doors, then in addition to the double increase in space, you will illuminate the room twice as much.
How to choose a facade
Tips for choosing a facade depend only on the design decision of the front room and your desire to enter the cabinet into this interior.
- The avant-garde style headset is the perfect combination of facades.
- Front in Arabic style perfectly fit the facades with carved doors.
- For a fancy room in the style of "Baroque" companion will be a wardrobe with the appropriate style ornaments.
- Lovers of French motifs and moods perfectly fit the style of "Provence", combining the rustic spirit and elegant fashionable details.
Therefore, before you go in search of the ideal solution for arranging the entrance room, you should decide in what style your interior is made. The wardrobe will be an excellent addition to the design of the front door.
The prices of a sliding wardrobe in a hall
The cost depends on the following points:
- The material from which made the "hallway". For example, as mentioned above, a wardrobe made of a single piece of wood will be an order of magnitude higher than a chipboard or MDF;
- Square construction. The more material involved, the higher the cost will be;
- The decoration of the facade. For example, a coated mirror will be higher in price than the blank surface of the door.
- Type of internal component. Partitions and wardrobe drawers from the manufacturer will cost less than the “stuffing” purchased in specialized stores.
Design features of wardrobes in small front doors
If the niche set aside for the arrangement of the headset is very narrow, then it would hang up that occupy at least 50 centimeters of space inside the cabinet not along the facade, but perpendicular to the back wall. This solution will save space.
When choosing a closet, remember that, unlike cabinet furniture, it allows you to use a smaller depth of the room space at maximum filling. And due to the lack of rear walls, you can accommodate a greater number of things, clothing and accessories.
