Types of roller blinds and their features
Products that work with a cassette system are divided into three types.
- The design of the UNI-1 - has a special box, inside it is placed a chain, which a person collects or spins the canvas. Guides that move the canvas, have a flat shape. Attached to the window profile shtapikam.
- The UNI-2 system is similar to the first, but differs in the shape of guides, here they are in the shape of the letter “P”, and also attach the product to the window frame. Thanks to the mounting method, the owner can lower the roll by covering the lower bead.
- UNI-2, but equipped with a spring mechanism. Differs control method to unwind / twist the roll, the person controls the handle. The box is placed anywhere - above, below or even to the side of the window frame.
Any of these mechanisms is mounted on the window frame in two ways.
- Self-tapping screws are used - the master drills holes for installation of the system.
- Used double-sided tape - unreliable method, designed only for products with light weight. Experts do not recommend it, if the owner pulls the chain too much, the design may fall.
Rolled curtains UNI-1 and UNI-2: description of structures, their differences
Externally, the consumer almost does not notice the difference between the two types of curtains, but any expert will explain that there are differences and there are quite a lot of them.
Rolled curtains UNI 2 are considered universal mechanisms, they are installed on almost all plastic windows. So the first difference is the ability to install on any plastic profiles. But there are a few differences, consider more.
View guides
The first ones have flat guides, U-shaped guides are typical for UNI-2. Because of this, the second system has a larger cassette.
In order to see the difference, the buyer should look at the roller assembly - the box of the second UNI is more voluminous, the centimeter-thick substrate is placed along the entire length for convenient placement inside the P-rail.
Distance between roll and glass
UNI-1 is attached close to the glass, the rolls in the open state in contact with the glass. If the windows often fog up, the fabric gets wet and sticks. This not only harms the fabric, but also can completely destroy the system - the fabric is glued, if you pull too hard, the product will fall.
The second model is devoid of such a disadvantage, it is attached to the frame, and there is at least a centimeter of space between the glass and the roll.
Placement of the weighting agent
A weighting agent is placed at the bottom of the curtain, in the UNI-1 system it is attached horizontally to the lower bead. If the installer attaches the roller not ideally horizontally on top, the weighting agent will be placed out of alignment. Because of this lack of a gap is formed from below, where sunlight penetrates.
In UNI-2, a curtain with a weighting agent always goes below the bead, so a lumen is impossible.
Way to open windows
The boxes of the two systems are different - one is flat, the other is more dimensional. The UNI-2 roll-up box dimension limits the opening of a window, because a large box rests on a slope, which is why it is impossible to open the window completely.
The flat box UNI-1 increases the opening by 11 degrees, but if the shutter is installed on the balcony door, then this is also not comfortable.
Installation of systems
UNI-1 is attached to the bead, but only if its depth is at least 1.4 centimeters, and it is rectangular in shape. This leads to the overlap of the glass bottom and side. The cassette takes about four and a half centimeters on top, and the side guides are two centimeters on each side. Thus, the window opening is significantly reduced.
If the bead of another shape, or its depth is below 1.4 centimeters, it will not sustain the system. In this case, install the UNI-2, attaching it to the frame. Cassette opening and guides on the sides pass through the frame, and therefore do not close the glass. In the open window is the same as before installing the blinds.
The advantages and disadvantages of UNI2 and UNI1
Both designs are considered inexpensive, the price they have the same. But how to choose the best system for the house? Consider the pros and cons of each mechanism separately.
Pros UNI-1
- Slightly cheaper than UNI 2 blinds, about ten percent.
- It takes less space, the opening angle is eleven degrees more than that of the second mechanism.
Minuses
- Not universal - attached only to a rectangular bead, with a thickness of 1.4cm.
- Reduces glass, cassette and side rails cover the surface, making it difficult to wash windows.
- Too tight to glass. If the apartment is humid and misty windows, then the fabric is able to stick to the glass. Because of this, not only the fabric is spoiled, but the whole system.
- If the window is improperly constructed, for example, the left side of the glass is a couple of millimeters longer than the right, then when fastening to the bead horizontally, a small opening is formed from below where the light will penetrate.
Note! If the goal is to purchase Blackout fabric to completely black out, then UNI-1 may not be suitable.
Pros UNI-2
- Universal product, attached to any window to the frame on top.
- Does not close glass, after all guides and the cartridge are located on a frame.
- There is an opening between the curtain and the glass, the condensate will not affect the condition of the product.
- Even if the window is poorly constructed, this will not be noticeable when using this type of rolshtor.
disadvantages
- More expensive than the first system by ten percent.
- Due to the fastening of the cassette on the frame, there is a restriction on the opening of the window.
UNI-2 is slightly better than the first mechanism, because it can be used for any plastic window, it does not close the window opening.
