Pillow - an important accessory for sleep. But it can perform not only important functions assigned to it, but also be a simple decoration. For this purpose it is reasonable to make a shaped pillow. We propose to allocate pillows in the form of flowers. This form is the most common, as the flower is suitable for any age and gender. Such an accessory can make each needlewoman with their own hands.

Choose a form

It is necessary to determine the form. There are many flowers in nature, and each of the species can be transferred to artificial material. Chamomiles, roses, peonies, violets - everything your heart desires. The main thing is to choose a form that is also able to perform the functions of a pillow, that is, it is comfortable to sleep on it.

The flower pillow is first and foremost an accessory, but it still has to perform basic functions. It all depends on personal preference. If you think this is an accessory, you can choose any form, but if you combine the two functions, choose a practical form. The best option would be in the form of a chamomile or rose.

We select the fabric and filler for the pillow

• Velours. It consists of small villi, thanks to which it has an excellent appearance. Often used for upholstering furniture and making curtains. • Velvet. The properties are similar to the previous version, but it has its own features, advantages and disadvantages. • Silk. Radically different from previous versions. But great for our purposes. It has a beautiful appearance and is pleasant to the touch. This material slides and feels cool, so it is suitable if the product serves only as an accessory. Another significant disadvantage is the high price. But if you stop at this option, you can get around the high price by choosing a cheaper equivalent - satin or artificial silk.

These are the most commonly used options. The best of them will be sintepon, buckwheat husk and tea. If you want to use a pillow as a functional object, use a synthetic winterizer or its analogs. But on a used tea brew or buckwheat husk, you can definitely sleep. Usually the last two options are used to create accessories that are placed in the bed to improve sleep.

How to sew a chamomile pillow

We offer to switch to the independent production of a flower pillow. We chose silk as the material for the outer shell (you can replace it with satin or natural silk). As a filler, take sintepon. As a form, we chose daisy. This option will be good in appearance and functionality.

Preparatory stage

At this stage it is planned to prepare all the necessary materials and tools. In any case, you will need:

• shell material;
• filling material;
• scissors;
• thread in the color of the fabric;
• pattern paper or cardboard.

You may need beads or rhinestones to create a decor. Glue is necessary for their fastening.

Making a pattern

Special measurements to build patterns will not be needed. Just decide what should be the size of the pillow and calculate the dimensions of the components so that together they make up the size of the pillow you need.

Now we proceed to the construction of the pattern. You will need these details:

• petals (12 pieces);
• leaves (6 pieces);
• core (1 piece).

Take a cardboard and draw on it a silhouette of a camomile petal. It should turn out on the one hand rounded, on the other - even. Next, cut the silhouette - pattern number 1 is ready.

With petals spend a similar procedure - just draw it on a piece of cardboard. Be sure to make sure that the leaves do not have more petals, otherwise the product in the final form looks ironic. For the pattern will need a few details, as it is better if the leaves are of different sizes. But you can make them the same size.

For the core, it is enough to draw a circle and cut it.

Cutting cloth

Now take the cloth and lay it on the table. Before we open the fabric, it is necessary to iron it, otherwise the details made on the patterns may be smaller or larger than the set size.

1. When the fabric is ready for use, lay out the parts cut out of the cardboard. Try to lay them as close as possible to each other, so economical. But make sure that the details do not push each other.

2. Circle pencil patterns and remove them.
3. It is enough to cut out the silhouettes of the fabric, and the cutting of the fabric is over.

Now we have elements for work, we proceed to the creation of chamomile.

Sewing process

It remains to take a few steps:

1. Sew in pairs the details along the contour, leaving a flat part open.

   Sew the central part to the petals, sew the two main parts of the chamomile between each other from the wrong side

2. Details almost start to fill them.

   We fill the pillow with selected filler

   We turn out through a small hole and fill

3. Sew the remaining hole.
4. At the last stage, carry out the assembly, sewing the petals to the core at the junction of its two elements together.
5. Sew or glue the daisy petals together.

   We sew each petal with threads, thus separating them from each other and our flower pillow is ready

6. Sew petals on the back of the pillow.

Everything! The flower pillow is ready. You can use, or just admire the product.
